Weekend Roundup

From around the great state of the blogosphere, here are my goodies I've collected this weekend.

A pal of mine is in Israel studying abroad this semester (Shout out to BWhittles!) and told me about these guys:
Artist: Catarina Chassidim Artist: Jacky Opinsky Artist: Tamar Shacham Bar Artist: Beula Green Artist: Barbara Pfeffer
They are the fish statues of Eilat. I don't know about you all, but I love me some painted statues. I've seen the bears of Hendersonville, NC and a few other animals (goats from somewhere else?) around the States. Gotta love me some local art and these are especially interesting. Go check out the rest with the aforementioned link! There are some really neat ones.

In the up-and-coming category we have Jennifer Causey and her Makers project.  The project entails her photographing local "makers" in Brooklyn, NY. Not sure when the projects will be posted (there are just Coming Soon pics on the site) but definitely check back for more info on those. They are sure to be awesome!
Just look at this work:

I mean, really, what's more poignant than a mysterious glass bottle with COMING SOON written over it?!

For your bookmark bar this week is the bucket-o-inspiration that is Design Crush. It's a creative conglomeration of pictures, links, recipes and ideas. A lovely site with wonderful sources. Definitely one to keep tabs on and to check out often!

And for your listening pleasure, check out this week's episode of Radiolab from the ever-lovely NPR. If you're too lazy to go the website or iTunes to download this veritable gem of radio broadcasting, just click the lovely embedded player below and stare at our beautiful website or check out the links above while pondering this week's topic of Lost and Found.
