I personally love lockets. They come in all shapes and styles. I think that the locket sometimes describes the wearer more than the person who's inside or the giver.
I wear a cheap costume jewelry (fake)gold locket I nabbed from my Mom's stash. It's shaped like a heart and has some ornate, slightly gaudy etchings in the front and the chain is hideous. But every time I wear it, I can't help but to think of my mother.
But I think it's about time for me to get an upgrade. I mean, how about something made from real metal? Here's a quick roundup of my top lockets I've seen lately.

Great colors, love the vintage finish to the metal and who doesn't love a classic oval locket? For the hefty price of $98 you better be sure! As someone who's actually made French enamel (in France, no less) I can say that this thing is probably the most durable thing around. Enamel basically works like glass, but less prone to cracking/shattering (at least in my experience) and on top of metal the stuff is next to indestructible.
2. Silver Twig Branch and Locket by this Etsy seller

I love the little surprise of it having that branch connector. Also, who doesn't love some simple silver? It's almost like a mirror. And that delicate chain is so lovely.
3. Keep Calm and Carry On Locket by this Etsy seller

It might be overdone, but I still love this quote. It's got a great meaning, an interesting history, and, to me, an awesome and appropriate message no matter the time period. Also, this green is amazing.
4. Night Owl Locket by this Etsy seller

Owls. Another fad I can't let go of. They're adorable and have a lovely vintage feel to them. So I especially love this one for those reasons. My reasoning: It's an owl. Enough said.
5. Come Over to My House Hand-Painted Locket by this Etsy seller

The painting is a little hokey, but I love the title of the book the images are inspired by. The colors are cute and this bad-lady is a ball pendent, which makes it both unique and slightly hilarious to me. I can imagine pasting little pictures of me and my lovelies inside on the bridge, or perhaps in a boat, all too easily.
Bonus Round!
Because I think I could happily own all these lockets and gladly take on another, I have to add this Wallet Locket from this Etsy seller. I think I'll let the picture speak for itself.
