All Things Sweet

I think things like dessert--which is both sweet and edible--are wonderful. Those two qualities alone make them cute in my book. I mean, who doesn't want to ooh and aahh over a little baby chub or enjoy some adorable tiny animals?  Totally adorable and definitely under our definition of all things cute.

However, today I'm not talking about living cute things. I'm talking about the things your tummy thinks are cute. And by tummy, I mean appetite.

I am a self-professed lover of blogs. Annie laughs at my browser's bookmarks bar which (thanks to Google Chrome) allows me to have folders for my bookmarks.  And if this is news to you like it was to me, this gives me even more room for bookmarks!  One whole folder of mine is full of blogs about eating. Mostly recipe-rich bloggies, I check these sites every day.  And I am not even kidding. Sometimes I even check them multiple times a day.
My name is Lo, and I"m a blog-o-holic

Any-who, thanks to all those lovely ladies (I'm sadly lacking a distinct male population of food inspiration) who share their trials and tribulations of food exploration, I have had the pleasure of acquiring quite a few lovely recipes.  I trust these peeps with my hunger, which is saying a lot. So saying, I am constantly saving delicious looking recipes for the future.  Like my intense bomb-shelter foremothers, I stockpile recipes like they stockpiled canned goods and gas masks.

So, today, I am sharing with you lovely peoples of the world my favorite desserty recipes.  Definitely go out and scour these blogs because I can say that I've cooked multiple items from each and they are always delicious and easy to follow (which, for a more-than-slightly-forgetful kitchen maniac is perhaps most important).

COOKIES

From How Sweet It Is, comes the following two recipes.  Both are unbelievable. I'm not even sure I would have believed them possible if it weren't for the fact that there are pictures and someone who's already made them.

So this is not just your usual cinnamon roll (note that it is under the "cookie" subheader!).  This is a cinnamon roll stuffed with chocolate chip cookie dough. Yes, you did read that correctly.  A cookie-dough-stuffed-cinnamon-roll.  WHAT?!  I'm not even sure if this is appealling or not, but I'm tempted to make it just because of it's uniqueness and mysterious ways. If a cinnamon had wiles, this would be the one to catch me under its spell.

Next is another zedonk of the cookie world. It's chocolate chip cookie dip. Yes, again, you read that correctly. It's chocolate chip cookie DIP. Like, put a cookie/pretzel/spoon in it. I am desperate to try this as I'm hoping it's like eating cookie dough without all the risk of salmonella (ew).

Chocolate-Black Pepper Cookies
The following cookie is from the ever-lovely criminal mind of Martha Stewart (or, more probably, one of her genius lackeys).  It's a Chocolate Black Pepper cookie. Yeah. Chocolate. Black Pepper. Married together in one interesting dessert. I can see this one complementing a nice steak dinner, or something super rich.  The pepperiness would really complement those heavier flavors, I think.

DOUGHNUTS:

Cooking with My Kid is a favorite go-to site for a quick and tasty meal.  Everything I have tried makes me crazy. Like, ZOMG I need 7 more quantities of this!
Baked Jelly Donuts for Hanukkah
So, I am on a current kick for doughnuts. I am not a fan of wasting half a container of oil on frying them, though, so this recipe for Baked Jelly-filled Doughnuts really tempts me. That and their delish cinnamon-sugar tops.

The remedy for my aversion to frying comes in the form of a doughnut pan (yes, they make those. You can find the one I'm lusting after here).  Regardless, this section of Lara Ferroni's site still looks like the bees knees of doughnuts. (Ferroni has an awesome looking doughnut book that's on my Amazon wishlist.)

Okay. I think that's enough to get you started! Nothing like instilling ravenous hunger in the minds of you lovely readers!
