Nesting: Garden edition

I recently acquired a new apartment that I'll be staying in through August. I can't wait to move out of the dorms on campus and live on my own with my own space. Best part? I can hang things and decorate as I please and pretend I'm going to be there for more than 3 months!

So, with that huge blank canvas at the ready, I'm going to do a little series on my nesting tendencies. And for this entry, it's all about little gardens. I've got some tiny chives and basil growing and my grandparents are caring for my beloved lemon-mint plant and I cannot wait to bring those babies to the new place. That said, I have this grand plan for an adorable indoor plant community for my humongous window. It's equal parts DIY and working-with-what-I've-got.

But if I weren't using that plan of attack, the following list of goodies would be on my go-to list of things to buy/hack. Let me know if you've seen any other great indoor garden ideas!

This one is adorable and matches my love of mugs.  They're those metal enamel-painted camping mugs spray painted and hung with twine on a wall. I wonder if it could be done with my thrifted ceramic mugs?
As seen on Apartment Therapy but via this site.
This one is very adorable and I love that it can be hung indoors or outdoors! It's a bit pricey ($59), but if it lasts, it might be worth it?! It's called a Mini Earthbox; they've got a bunch of other choices, as well, but this one just looks so cute and perfect for a kitchen wall or maybe even a bathroom wall (where it will get the steam from the shower) as long as you have a window!
